Avionics Module III: selected mathematics and control tutorials

This course brings together eight Jemshah video lessons with written explanations, worked practice examples and self-check exercises. The current lessons cover double integrals, volumes of solids, surface integrals, Fourier-series symmetry and examples, microcontroller fundamentals and feedback process control.

The material is intended for learners revising these selected topics within an aeronautical engineering programme. It is a topic-based tutorial collection; compare its coverage with your institution’s current unit outline before planning examination revision. It does not yet constitute every unit in the full Module III programme.

How to study

1. Read the written explanation and attempt the worked problem before opening the solution.
2. Use the existing video to follow the lecturer’s treatment of the topic.
3. Complete the self-check exercise and compare the method and units with the answer.

What you should be able to do

• Set integration limits from a region and calculate volumes and surface areas.
• Use even and odd symmetry to choose Fourier coefficients.
• Trace the sensor, processor and output path in a microcontroller system.
• Explain feedback error and hysteresis in a simple process controller.

Prerequisites: algebra, differentiation, single-variable integration and elementary electronics. A scientific calculator and paper for worked calculations are useful.
