About This Course

Revise KNEC Diploma in Tourism Management Module II with worked questions and answers from five July 2022 theory papers. The course covers Tourism Economics, Fundamentals of Hotel Operations, Tour Operations, Tourism Accounting and French Paper I.

The 2022 examination chapter contains one lesson for each subject, with 75 answered question parts. Work through the questions first, then compare your approach with the explanations and calculations under each Answer heading.

What is included?

  • Tourism Economics: specialisation, consumer behaviour, business location, tourism prices and development, banking, economies of scale, demand elasticity and money. Three labelled diagrams explain monopoly pricing, consumer equilibrium and an increase in supply.
  • Fundamentals of Hotel Operations: hotel departments, housekeeping, technology, staff turnover, equipment control, stores, restaurant service, menus, payment methods, outside catering and laundry.
  • Tour Operations: packaging tourism experiences, transport, camping, cancellations, reservations, guiding skills, accommodation investment and destination promotion.
  • Tourism Accounting: accounting concepts, journals, suspense accounts, cashbooks, depreciation and disposal, bank reconciliation, control accounts, company accounts, ledgers, income statements, capital and accruals. Tables show entries and workings step by step.
  • French Paper I: grammar, vocabulary, translations, two complete writing examples and both reading passages with comprehension answers.

This edition covers five July 2022 Module II theory papers. The lessons include question text, worked answers and relevant diagrams. Use the curriculum to select a subject and practise each paper at your own pace.

These independent revision answers support understanding and exam practice. They are not official KNEC marking schemes. Where the printed accounting data create an unusual result or require a presentation assumption, the answer explains it.
